German G7 Presidency

Germany took over the G7 Presidency at the end of the summit in Brussels in June 2014 and will host the annual meeting of heads of state and government on 7 and 8 June 2015. Chancellor Merkel chose Schloss Elmau as the summit venue. The Kranzbach Hotel, which is nearby, will also be used.

The 2015 Summit will take place at Schloss Elmau.

The summit is an opportunity to address current international challenges and priority issues in an international context.
Schloss Elmau and the Kranzbach Hotel are located near Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps, about 100 kilometres south of Munich. The venue meets all logistical and safety requirements.

The delightful scenery provides an attractive setting for the talks and meetings between the heads of state and government.

The summit will take place on 7 and 8 June 2015.

Germany last held the presidency in 2007, when the summit was held in Heiligendamm, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
